Strategies: Capacity building for professional development
Capacity building was an intrinsic part of TLRP’s work. Indeed, in all phases of TLRP funding, it was a criterion for project selection, and such work was supported, monitored and reported on each year. Particular attention was paid to skill and career development of contract research staff, with special events each year.
A range of investments in capacity building were made – including fellowships, training courses, project development and on-line resource development. A particular emphasis of such work was to work with the academic community to support professional self-improvement.
