Theoretical Outcomes: the existing knowledge base will be
extended, in so far as it informs our understanding of the relations
between learning, understanding and the representation of that understanding
in the use of computerised concept-mapping.
Empirical Outcomes: quantitative evidence, from a variety
of interventions, will support the place of computerised concept-mapping
in raising attainment in the secondary classroom.
Methodological Outcomes: the existing knowledge base will
be extended with an account of how the transfer of learning can
be effectively accomplished with computerised concept-mapping, for
the future benefit of the research community and teacher-practitioners.
Practical Outcomes: teacher-practitioners will have access
to advice, and to field-studies, demonstrating the practical application
of computerised concept-mapping in both formative and summative
assessment.
