The resources developed by the TLRP are based on research directly drawn from the programme. The resources outlined here are for practitioners, researchers and teacher educators. There are also some specialist resources on workplace learning.
Practitioner resources
Sustainable resources, drawing on many of TLRP’s findings, have been created to support practitioners in evidence-informed enquiry into key aspects of professional practice. These resources were initially created by CUREE drawing on the work of TLRP and other relevant sources.
For those in schools, ‘practical applications’ have, with the support of Continuum, been incorporated into Andrew Pollard’s established textbook resources on Reflective Teaching. They are available both here and through RTweb.info.
For those in learning and skills sectors, ‘research tasters’ have been created with the support of the Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS). They are available both here and through the LSIS Excellence Gateway.
The Teacher Training Resource Bank (TTRB) provides access to the research & evidence base informing teacher education. All materials are quality assured through a rigorous process of academic scrutiny and monitoring undertaken by a team of expert teacher educators.
Research capacity building resources
Resources for developing research expertise have been created by experts commissioned by TLRP and AERS to support future capacity building in the field. For sustainability reasons, they are now being embedded in the website of the British Educational Research Association (BERA) and also being integrated into the resources of ESRC’s National Centre for Research Methods (NCRM).
Teacher educator resources
The Teacher Education Bibliography resource was developed by the Teacher Education Group (TEG) in collaboration with the TLRP, BERA, UCET, and ESCalate. Information on how to use the resource can be found here. The Teacher Education Research Network (TERN) aims to establish a regional network for research capacity building in the North West of England. The annotated C-Trip bibliography aims to enable researchers, practitioners,
policy makers and organizations with an interest in issues of teacher
professionalism and teachers’ professional development to elicit the latest
evidence and understanding about teachers’ lives and professional practices.
Workplace Learning Resources
TLRP and the Institute for Employment Research at the University of Warwick have produced a substantial sectoral review of contemporary thinking on workplace learning, incorporating many TLRP insights. The topics covered are: Policy; Apprenticeship; Informal learning; Knowledge at work; Identities at work; Enhancing learning at work; Organisational learning; and Lessons from research for continuing learning
The Educational Evidence Portal
The Educational Evidence Portal helps you find educational evidence from a range of reputable sources using a single search. It is designed for both professional and lay people interested in education and children's services.
Higher Education Resources
EvidenceNet (run by the Higher Education Academy (HEA)) promotes and supports evidence-informed practice in Higher Education teaching and learning
