About

This is an area of the Digital Inclusion that we have created to facilitate the creation of an online document that reviews and critiques current digital inclusion research, policy and practice: with a particular focus on drawing our potential implications for future digital inclusion research.

This document, when completed will have a stand-alone life of its own, but it will also form the foundation of a separate publication towards the end of the TEL programme that highlights ways in which each of the TEL projects has (or has the potential to have) made a contribution to advancing our understanding or practice in relation to digital inclusion.

To keep the writing process manageable, we have elected to have a few identified people producing and having ultimate control over the main text; whilst offering Digital Inclusion Forum members and followers the opportunity to have an input through the use of the comment feature of the writing tool. These comments will be publicly viewable and therefore will help to ensure revision transparancy as the online document (and the associated separate publication) develops over time.

We envisage comments that are added to the text being of the following nature:

Agree/Disagree statements: if comentators wish to agree or disagree with a stance, stated fact or interpretation they are welcome to say so- and are strongly encouraged to point to evidence to help support their case.

Filling in the blanks contributions: if commentators feel that something in the text could be usefully expanded upon or clarified, they are encouraged to suggest additional text, point to useful projects, references etc that would help to build a more complete picture of the issue at stake.

Illustrative examples: Commentators are encouraged to provide examples of digital inclusion (from research or practice) that help to illustrate or illuminate points being made in the text. This is likely to be a brief description accompanied by a pointer to a reference or project URL that can be followed up further by readers and editors alike.

The texts which we would like you to read and comment on can be accessed by clicking on items in the 'Table of Contents' on the left of this screen. Click here for details of how to contribute (opens in a new window).
