For the final seminar, speakers were invited to reflect on what had been achieved by the series, what other work in the area needs to be done and on possible implications for policy and practice. The morning was designed to enable reflection on the lessons of the seminar series. It began with a paper from the project team which pulled together some of the threads of the series. This was followed by three responses from colleagues representing a range of national professional and personal perspectives, which included critical reflection on what they thought might have been missed by the series as well as on what had been achieved. In the afternoon we addressed the question, 'What next?' Here speakers were invited to look forwards and present their ideas on the future of research and/or policy and practice in relation to the themes of changing teacher roles, identities and professionalism.
