Sectoral Overviews: Further Education
In 2008 TLRP produced a commentary on Further Education. The commentary was based on the work of eighteen TLRP investments and on the wide-ranging expertise of many practitioners and researchers.
The projects themselves have produced a wide range of output, including especially Frank Coffield's consultation document 'Just suppose teaching
and learning became the first priority...' , produced for the Learning and Skills Network. This discussed the proposition that the most effective way to create a world-class Learning and Skills Sector would be to improve the quality of teaching and learning taking place within it.
The new Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS), formed from the merger of QIA and CEL, has produced a policy briefing which examined the 'policy context for FE and Skills and for LSIS'. LSIS also produced a series of 'research publications', many of which were based on practitioner research, and 'policy seminar papers'.
